Was stuck above 2 minutes for a while, until I learned that you can press B to close those giant lifts that take you underground. I'd been waiting for it to close on its own and missed the elevator many times as a result. Leaving this here in case anyone else didn't realize that the big lift is manually closeable.
Sub 2 minutes came easily afterwards -- it only took a few minutes.
