Confession: I kinda wanted to pull out the guitar for this one before I even started the grind, but it was a completely different plan. I wanted to play a little of Tom Petty's "Learning to Fly," and it wasn't supposed to be any big production. Just a little 1 or 2 minute abridged version sung behind the run. No major video edit. I liked the idea because this was to be my first world record (thus the "Learning") and also it's the level where you get on a plane (thus the "to Fly"). Even better, it has that line about "what goes up must come down," which I thought would be really cool if it was timed to be sung right at the grenade juggle. Because the grenades, they... well, they go up, and then they... you know... come down.

But by the end, Tom Petty was not in the plan. So anybody else who wants it: feel free! I still think it was a cool idea. The problem is that I came up with this idea before I started the grind. And once I had to actually go through the experience of it, I wound up wanting to say other things that I could say more accurately with other songs.

Look who's giving out the BJs now, Birdie!
